Trails & Connectivity

Friends of Franklin Parks’ core mission is to enhance the parks and trails experience for everyone! We are a public-private partnership with the City of Franklin, TN, with the intention to create accessible parks and trails for the Middle Tennessee community.

75% of the national population

use parks and recreational services in their daily lives which makes it all that more important that we preserve our natural community!

In 2018, the Friends of Franklin Parks began the installation of a trailhead at Harlinsdale connecting to a new bridge across the Harpeth River that will connect Harlinsdale to Franklin High School, Hillsboro Road, Downtown Franklin, and beyond! This project is in design, with plans to open to the public in 2023.

Since then, Friends of Franklin Parks, in partnership with the City of Franklin, has launched a $1.5 million campaign for an Inclusive Playground in Franklin. The playground, also known as Ellie G’s Dream World, will be a 3-acre park with multiple sports fields, trails, and an inclusive park designed for families of all abilities.

FOFP will continue to work with the City of Franklin to facilitate more trails and connectivity across the city parks to increase the 900+ acres of beautiful parkland and trails!
